Shakespeare Theatre

On the banks of the River Avon on the far side of the river stands the Shakespreare Theatre formerly the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, opened in 1932 by the Duke of Windsor. 18/10/01: A 100 million proposal has been unveiled to built a new theatre. * by the Royal Shakespeare Company which include plans to demolish the current Royal Shakespeare Theatre and build a landmark modern Shakespeare playhouse on the riverside site. An RSC spokesman said the proposals had been detailed in a feasibility study which was due to be submitted to the Arts Council of England this week.

Archie Street Salford Corrie

Alf Kirvin, aged 74, who lives in Archie Street, Salford in Lancashire.
